Q. I received a notification about an update to my Identity Guard service (or Victim Assistance benefit). Can you tell me more?

The ITAC Victim Assistance® feature in our Identity Guard products will transition to be the Victim Recovery Service, and will offer a slight variation of services. The following services are included with the Victim Recovery Service should you become a victim of identity theft.

  • We will walk you through a new copy of your credit report to assist you in identifying certain suspicious activity.
  • We will notify the affected creditors via mail
  • We will assist you in placing a fraud alert to help prevent new accounts from being opened without your knowledge.
  • We will provide a letter to you summarizing the results of the interview and a copy of our Fraud First Aid kit as a valuable reference tool to guide you through next steps and remediation.

    Q. Is this service different from the ITAC Victim Assistance service?

    The Victim Recovery Service will offer the following features and benefits should you become a victim of identity theft.

  • Assist you in identifying certain suspicious activity in your credit report
  • Notify the affected creditors via mail
  • Assist you in placing a fraud alert

    No. Your membership price will not change.

    Q. Will my insurance coverage change?

    No. There are no changes to your insurance coverage. The update to Victim Recovery Service does not affect your id theft insurance.
