CHANTILLY, VA, June 11, 2014 - Identity Guard®, a leading identity theft protection service from Intersections Inc., has been named to 2014 Online Trust Honor Roll for its commitment to best practices in security, privacy and data stewardship. Formally launched by the Online Trust Alliance (OTA) in 2009, the Online Trust Honor Roll and Online Trust Audit is a prestigious recognition honoring those firms who voluntarily adopt best practices in brand and consumer protection, security, and privacy.

Now in its 5th year, the Honor Roll has expanded to include the audit of more than 800 sites; including OTA members, the Internet Retailer 500, FDIC 100, and the top 50 news, social media, and government organizations. This year, the 2014 Online Trust Audit focused on three major categories; Domain, Brand & Consumer Protection; Site, Server & Infrastructure Security; and Data Protection, Privacy & Transparency. In order to qualify for the Honor Roll, sites must receive a composite score of 80% or better and score at least 55 out of 100 points in each of the three categories. Only 30 percent of companies evaluated made the Honor Roll, and nearly 53 percent failed in one of more of the categories.
